George D. Cave, BA’51, MD’55
January 19, 1930 - May 8, 2024

George Derry Cave was born three months into the Great Depression to George T. and Dinah Cave in Vancouver, BC. He earned his BA and MD degrees at UBC. He specialized in General Surgery and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Canada) and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He began private practice in Chula Vista, California, in 1958 and retired in 1995.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Judith, after 68 years of marriage, daughter Deborah (Alan Ferguson), sons Douglas and Colin (Dana Barbar), sister Donna House, and grandchildren Shayna, Taylor, Alena, and Christopher Cave, and Devon Ferguson.

He remained “NEARER GOD’S HEART IN THE GARDEN.”

There is a cremation planned and, at his request, no services.
