Neil McQueen Standen
Neil McQueen Standen, BASc'62

Neil McQueen Standen passed away in his 84th year. He is survived by his wife Terri, and predeceased by his mother, Euphemia McQueen; his father, Sydney; and his brother, Philip. He is deeply mourned by his children, Karyn (Paul Huppe), Philip (Carol), and Paula (Rohin Lakhani); by his wife, Katharine Wittmann; his grandchildren, Jacob, Alaister, Isaac, Maxim, Christian, and Charlotte; his brothers, Dale (Bernice) and Eric (Shirley); and nieces and nephews. A beloved friend to many.

A graduate of UBC (BASc, Mechanical Engineering) and McGill University (Master’s Degree, Engineering), Neil enjoyed a career as an international expert in aeronautical design and noise measurement. He accepted duty however it came to him, lived by his values of honesty, ethical behaviour, and integrity, and respected others who had and lived those same values. He was a multi-talented man with a joie de vivre and unwavering dedication to his responsibilities as a father, grandfather, and moral human being. He leaves the cherished legacy of a life well lived.
