May 14, 1963 - February 6, 2023

Linda Wolstencroft (née Berzins), beloved wife of Michel Poisson of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023, at the age of 59 years. Linda was born in Vancouver, BC, on May 14, 1963, and moved to Calgary, AB, in 2015. She and Michel married in 2000, after being together since 1994.

She graduated from UBC with a degree in mechanical engineering, and was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario. She completed her Master of Business Administration from York University in 1993 and worked in the aerospace and defence sector for many years. She then started her own consulting company in business development, helping many different aerospace and defence companies win contracts.

Linda accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of having been granted Affiliate Grade 10 membership in the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Linda loved walks in nature and had a deep passion for classical piano, spending numerous hours playing every day. She enjoyed many trips around the globe and locally to places such as Banff and Osoyoos.

Linda’s favourite prayer was The Serenity Prayer:

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace. Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life, And supremely happy with Him forever and ever in the next.

She will be most remembered for her amazingly kind heart, gorgeous smile, and total devotion to her family. Besides her loving husband, Linda is survived by her three sons, Eric Poisson-Michelle Kerr of Ottawa, Jacob Wolstencroft of London, England, and Trevor Poisson-Chantel Stanley of Calgary, and her six grandchildren Haileigh, Noah, Lucas, Marley, and Mack in Ottawa and Katrina in Calgary. Linda is also survived by her mother Daina, brother Rob Berzins and his wife DeAnn from Vancouver, as well as her niece Amanda and nephew Jason, and her cousins April, Peter, Cherie, and Lita.
