FORWARD for Students Affordability Initiative

We are facing an affordability crisis. Housing, transportation, and food security create real barriers to student success. Today, UBC students must work multiple jobs and often skip meals just to afford to buy textbooks or pay rent. Students shouldn’t have to choose between their education and their wellbeing.

UBC believes that no eligible student should be denied an education based solely on financial need. FORWARD for Students Affordability Initiative will help students on both campuses by providing them with support in the areas where they need it most. Our goal is to raise $100 million to help students who are coping with the ever-rising cost of living.

UBC is a community where students develop skills, expand their understanding, and make connections that can last a lifetime. However, students in financial crisis cannot fully participate in campus life, which severely compromises their student experience as well as both mental and physical health.

The FORWARD for Students Fund is an operational fund that will support need-based student awards and affordability programs and services, providing students with immediate support. Your gift will go towards need-based awards and affordability programs and services.
