Our animal friends: Caring for yourself and the animals in your life
Pet adoptions have been on the rise over the last year and there is interesting science behind our bond with animals. Many people have taken the opportunity to establish and grow a close bond with an animal companion or have been considering whether or not to bring one into their life. While we are often familiar with the paw-sitive benefits of animals, we also need to be aware of our impact on them so we don’t cause them unnecessary stress.
Hear from UBC experts from the Faculty of Land and Food Systems and UBC Okanagan’s School of Education as they share their research on the impact that animals can have on our physical and mental health, well-being and quality of life, and offer guidance on caring for your pets.
Listen in as we connect over our shared love of animals.
Presented in partnership with the UBC Faculty of Land and Food Systems, UBC Faculty of Arts and the UBC Okanagan School of Education.
