Ms. Alison Kendall, age 53 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 18, 2014. Alison was a multimedia artist who lived and worked in Thunder Bay. She was born in Nipigon on June 11, 1961, and later moved with her family to Thunder Bay at a young age and grew up there. Trained formally as a painter, she has an Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts from Lakehead University, and a Master of Fine Arts from UBC. Her artwork extended to mixed media including fibre, printmaking, drawing, bookbinding and beadwork. She had taught a variety of studio and academic courses in the Visual Arts Department at Lakehead University until her retirement in 2013. She was loved and respected by many people here and across Canada. Alison is survived by her husband, Brian E. Beaucage; father Paul Kendall; brother Greg (Janice); and nephew Ian (Shannon and Brody). She was predeceased by her mother, Carolina Kendall (née Stephenson).
