In Memoriam

A person with rectangular glasses, short greying hair, and a blue plaid shirt.
Wayne Robert William Hall, BA’72, MA’74

1948-2024

Our beloved Wayne passed away on May 19, 2024. Wayne was a kind, gentle, and generous man. He was devoted to his family, who deeply mourns his passing: wife Carolyn (née Andruski), children Michael and Christyn and their partners, and extended family.

Wayne completed a BA and MA at UBC. His MA thesis titled "Spatial behaviour in Victory Square: the social geography of an inner-city park" was completed under the guidance of professor Walter Hardwick.

Wayne’s interest in urban planning and the spatial use of public spaces informed his career path. After graduation, Wayne moved to Ottawa, where he worked for Canada Post. He then moved to Edmonton to become Regional Property Manager for Public Works Canada.

Upon retirement, Wayne enjoyed watercolour and acrylic painting, photography, biking in Edmonton’s river valley, travel, and frequent trips to Vancouver Island to visit relatives and friends.

We dearly miss this beautiful soul.
