George took his last flight on January 19, 2025, from Nanaimo, BC.

He was born on August 5, 1928, to Thomas and Mildred in Gravelbourg, SK. He was survived by his beloved wife Jean Marie (née Dougal), son Douglas (Susan), and daughter Kathleen (Bill) Trayner. He was predeceased by his parents, sister Lucille, brother John, and granddaughter Elizabeth.

George graduated from UBC in 1951 with a BA and BASc in mechanical engineering. He joined Canadian Pacific Airlines in 1952, retiring in 1984.

His life was full of travel, skiing, kayaking, and enjoying time at his cabin at Chilliwack Lake with family and friends. He built and flew three airplanes, crossing Canada in all of them.
