In Memoriam

Louise Beverly Parker, BSN’66
July 22, 1943 - March 7, 2022

After a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Louise passed away peacefully in her home in Surrey, BC, on March 7, 2022, surrounded by her husband and children.

Louise was born in Sioux Lookout, ON, on July 22, 1943, but migrated to Vancouver, at age four. She graduated from Kitsilano Secondary School in 1961 and from UBC in 1966 with a BASc in Nursing, earning her Registered Nurse (RN) certification in 1966. She married Neil Parker in 1965, her husband of 56 years.

After working in BC for two years as a public health nurse, Louise moved with her husband to London, North York, Oakville, and Mississauga, ON, where she raised her family. In 1987, after a nursing refresher course, Louise returned to nursing as an occupational health nurse. Louise and Neil returned to Greater Vancouver in 1997, where she continued as a public health, occupational health and medical clinic nurse.

Louise is survived by her husband, her three children (all located in Surrey, BC): David (son Nicholas, fiancé Karen Trachuk), Tereasa “Teri” (husband Joel Bitterman, son Maximus), and Danielle (husband Salman “Sal” Azam, daughter Hannah, son Logan), her brother Morley “Morrie” Lercher (wife Lynne, daughter Elysa Jacobs, son Jonathan), her brother-in-law Ronald Perry (son Stephen Burton, daughter Alisa), her sister-in-law Susan Lercher (daughters Shannon Brennan, Ashley), her sister-in-law Mary Anne Parker (son Roland, daughter Christine), and her brother-in-law Dennis Ebbeson (daughter Regan Riley, son Arnie). Louise was predeceased by her father Marvin Lercher, mother Rose Lercher, sister Shirley Perry, and brother Brian Lercher.

Louise loved music, theatre, travel, RVing, Jewish and folk dancing, deep-water aquafit, and bridge, and was an avid reader; but most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends. Louise was a beautiful, caring, thoughtful, honest, and loving person. She will be dearly missed by all those who lives she touched.
