Robin Keirstead, MAS’85

In November 2019, Robin Keirstead retired as university archivist at Western University. After undergraduate and graduate studies in history at Acadia and Queen’s, he moved to Vancouver to earn a second master’s degree in archival studies. He subsequently worked for the BC Government, Legal Archives of BC, Archives of Ontario, Region of Waterloo and City of Kitchener, before being appointed Western’s first university archivist in 2001. Active with many professional organizations over the years, Keirstead’s contributions have been recognized with provincial and national awards. Upon his retirement he received the designation University Archivist Emeritus and the Western Award of Excellence, presented by president of the university, Alan Shepard.
