Stephen Chipman, BSc(Forestry)’21

Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry, majoring in forestry operations, in May 2021 during the covid-19 pandemic. He is a 4th generation UBC graduate, and a 7th generation forester. Previous UBC graduates in the family are his great grandfather, C.D. "Bill" Osborn, who received a BSc in Agriculture 1933; his grandparents, Geza Toth, who graduated with a BSc in Forestry in 1960, and was a student of the Hungarian Sopron class and a 5th generation forester himself; Diane (Osborn) Toth who received a BSc in Rehabilitation Medicine in 1965; his father, Gordon Chipman, who earned a BSc in Forestry in 1993 and diploma in Forestry Engineering in 2001; and his mother Georgina (Toth) Chipman, who received a BSc in Pharmacy in 1994. Steve is currently working as a junior operations forester at NorthPac Forestry Group Ltd in Terrace, BC, and is enrolled as a forester in training and engineer in training.
